Twin Forks – Cross My Mind

This is kind of a whole bunch of cool. Chris Carrabba has jumped around a lot since his Dashboard Confessional days, but he’s never quite managed to get out of that pigeon hole. But with recent release from his new outfit, Twin Forks, it looks like he might have done just that.

The undeniably catchy “Cross My Mind” comes from the group’s debut LP, which was just released in Australia last month. Check it out at an iTunes store near you.

The National Parks – Ghosts

This is why I write this blog. This song. This band.

I miss finding songs that hit me in the gut. It’s an all-too-far-uncommon occurrence these days. But Ghosts, from The National Parks, did just that. This tune has just got deep into my head tonight, and I can’t stop humming along with that chorus.

The National Parks released Young, the album this track comes from, last year in 2013. I slept on it then, but certainly won’t be sleeping on any of their stuff in the future. Their single from this year, “As We Ran”, is beautiful too.

Nickel Creek – Destination

Um. New Nickel Creek, new Nickel Creek! Dudes, it’s been 6 years apart, and that’s far too long for my liking. Glad we got to our destination though.
