Motown 50 – 50 Great Years

Published on January 12th, 2009

Regretably, this will be a quick post today, as it never rains, but it pours, you know? Anyway, hat-tip to Richard at Makakmedia for bringing this to my attention: today, January 12, marks the beginning of a year long celebration of the 50th anniversary of global music icon: MOTOWN.

Read more about the event here… but I thought I would pay simple tribute with this… two of my favourite clips, of possibly two of my favourite Motown artists… the incomparable Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye.

Stevie Wonder – Superstition

Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On/What’s Happening Brother

Hey Matt, great choices above, I’ve got my iTunes firmly locked on Motown today, cheers.

Matt — agree nice choices! You can’t go wrong with Marvin and Stevie. If you had to add a few more..I’d go with the Jackson 5, Diana Ross & the Supremes, and the Temptations and then you’d have it all covered from my perspective. Thanks for posting this and the reminder of the big 50 for Motown.
