Kurt Cobain – It’s been 15 years…

Published on April 6th, 2009

Bugger. I missed posting this yesterday, but in the United States, it still is yesterday, if you know what I mean… so I thought I would post anyway.
Yesterday (or today, depending upon where you are when you read this), marked the 15th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death.

There’s a trifecta of musical deaths that shaped my life… Shannon Hoon, Bradley J Nowell… and Kurt. Even after all this time… Kurt still matters. Here’s to you, man.

I only noticed on the weekend that most Nirvana albums have his name spelt as “Kurdt”. No wonder he had so much angst to give.
Totally agree Burgo – legends may burn out fast, but the glow lasts forever…

      Hey Stav,
Thanks for stopping by. “Kurdt” was how Kurt himself used to sign albums sometimes… I can’t quite remember the original story behind that, but I think it had something to do with the fact that his middle name was “Donald” :)

During my protest, i spent a whole day listening to Nirvana, from 1987 demos recorded at home right up to the final box set. Great day!
