Seriously, how do you have so much understanding of this song at just 14 years of age? Still blown away by this girl.

One of my favourite tracks off of the Tallest Man on Earth’s 2010 release, “The Wild Hunt” (one of my releases of the year, by the way), was the heartbreaking Love Is All.
So there was no way I was not going to post this video of Kristian performing the tune on one of my favourite shows, Later… with Jools Holland.
There are few people that can pull off such a captivating performance that is so stripped-bare… but The Tallest Man on Earth is one of them.
So, Death Cab just attempted the first-ever “live, scripted, single-take music video” for Codes And Keys lead single “You Are A Tourist.” And, wouldn’t you know it, with awesome choreography, light-up suits, and some seriously talented direction by Tim Nackashi, it’s actually turned into a bloody awesome video.
Codes and Keys is out May 31 (my birthday!) and can be preordered here.
More on Maggie here.
REM – Überlin [VIDEO]
Who knew the kid from Kick-Ass, Aaron Johnson, could boogie like this?
Although R.E.M had previously released a “lyrics video” version for Überlin, this piece, featuring Aaron Johnson casually strolling down London’s Brick Lane, is the official video. Directed by Aaron’s fiance, Sam Taylor-Wood, the clip is just one of several “specially commissioned films” for the album, which apparently includes two by the impossibly talented James Franco.
So, I know it’s been quite some time since I written about the Damnwells on this blog. But – despite the fact that I still haven’t got my copy of the “Golden Days” dvd Alex, ahem ahem – I still can’t shake my love for the guys. Especially when they post things like this; Werewolves, from their upcoming album, “No One Listens to the Band Anymore”.
“No One Listens to the Band Anymore” is out March 2011, from PledgeMusic Recrodings / Poor Man’s Records (Redeye Distribution).
What that means is that you can “pledge” towards the album here: www.pledgemusic.com/projects/thedamnwells. There’s still plenty of good spots left… I just pledged $25 to get a signed copy of the CD and a t shirt.
There are some bands you just come back to. And I guess, for me, The Damnwells will always be one of them.
You always seemed so sure That one day we’d fight in In a suburban world
your part of town gets minor So you’re standin’ on the opposite shore
But by the time the first bombs fell We were already bored
We were already, already bored
– Arcade Fire, “The Suburbs”
Only Spike Jonze could bring the tale of lost innocence that is Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs” to life like this. Easily one of the most powerful and haunting music videos I’ve seen in years. Feel like being unsettled? Then watch it below.
